You've saved the sofas to your phone, measured the living room twice, and mentally rehearsed the layout. Then comes the part that feels surprisingly nerve-wracking: walking through a showroom door for the first time. When you're buying furniture for the first time, the questions stack up fast — Do I need an appointment? Can I park? Am I allowed to sit on everything? Will I be pressured to decide today? What actually happens after I say yes?
If that sounds familiar, you're exactly who this guide is for. We've gathered the questions first-time buyers ask us most at our Ubi showroom and answered them plainly — no jargon, no sales spin. From getting here and booking a slot, to testing sofas and understanding quotes, this furniture showroom FAQ Singapore walks you through everything you want to know before (and during) a first visit. By the end, you'll feel like you've already been here once.

Quick answers at a glance
Where is the showroom, and how do I get there?
We're in Ubi, a neighbourhood that has long been home to many of Singapore's furniture showrooms and warehouses — which works in your favour. You can browse several stores in a single afternoon and compare quality, materials and prices side by side. Our full address, block number and a map are always listed on our Visit Our Showroom page.
Coming by MRT? Ubi station on the Downtown Line is the closest stop, and the showroom is a short walk away — the visit page maps the exact route. Driving? You'll find parking guidance there too, so you're not circling the block with a boot full of lunch. It's a straightforward trip whether you're coming from a BTO in Punggol or a condo near the city.
Do I need to book? What are your opening hours?
Walk-ins are always welcome during opening hours — we'd never turn away someone who simply dropped by. Current opening hours, including public-holiday adjustments, are updated on our Visit Our Showroom page, so check there before heading over.
That said, we do recommend booking ahead, especially on weekends. When you book, a consultant knows you're coming, sets aside unhurried time to sit with you, and can pull up the pieces you've been eyeing online. It takes about two minutes — our guide on how to book a showroom appointment and what to bring tells you exactly what to prepare (hint: your floor plan and measurements earn bonus points).
How long should a first visit take?
A comfortable first visit is about 45–60 minutes — enough to browse, sit-test a few sofas and chat through your space without feeling rushed. Already narrowed it down to one or two pieces? Twenty to thirty minutes will do.
There's no timer and no minimum. Some guests come during lunch with a coffee in hand; others bring the whole family on a Saturday. The door is open either way — the only thing we ask is that you enjoy the experience of figuring out what actually suits your home.
Can I buy on the spot — or should I sleep on it?
The honest answer is: either, and it's entirely up to you. Some first-time buyers find "the one" after one good sit and happily confirm the same day. Others need to go home, measure the wall again and talk it over with a partner — and if you're not sure, that's exactly what we'd advise. A sofa is a long-term companion; you shouldn't feel cornered into choosing it.
So we've removed the pressure entirely. Every quote is written down and held, so there's no "today-only" deadline and no price that quietly changes. Walk out with a quote today and return next week — you'll be quoted the same number, and the same warm welcome.
Our goal is simple: you buy because the piece genuinely fits your home and your life, not because a salesperson hovered until you caved. If you need time, take it.
Am I really encouraged to test the furniture?
Yes — and not just "politely allowed." Encouraged. A physical showroom exists precisely so you can do what no product photo ever lets you do: sit, lie back, recline, and open things up. Many first-time buyers are shy about this, but please don't be. When you visit, feel free to:
- Run the recliner mechanism through its full range a few times — smoothness and locking are quality signals.
- Open and close a sofa bed at least twice, and lie on the mattress to gauge guest-night comfort.
- Press the seat and back cushions to feel foam density and recovery.
- Run your hand over the genuine leather grain or fabric weave to check the texture.
- Sit properly and check seat depth, backrest height and arm comfort for your own height.
This hands-on stage is exactly why we argue that testing a sofa in person still matters over buying online — a cushion that looks plump in a photo can feel entirely different after ten minutes of Netflix. Bring your floor plan or room measurements and we'll check clearances together, including how much wall space a recliner needs in a typical HDB living room when fully extended.
How do pricing and quotes work?
Every piece in the showroom carries clear pricing, with variations shown by model, size and material choice — genuine leather versus quality fabric, different configurations, storage options and so on. If you're curious about why two sofas that look alike are priced differently, just ask: the answer usually lies in the frame, the foam density and the leather grade, and our consultants are happy to walk you through each one.
Once you've settled on a piece, your consultant prepares a written quote that itemises the sofa and everything that goes with it — delivery, installation and any configuration you chose. There are no hidden line items that mysteriously appear at checkout, and the quote is held for a set period so you can decide calmly.
Where does the value come from? We source-select directly from Foshan workshops and manage the logistics ourselves, so our accessible price points reflect thoughtful sourcing — not cut corners. What you're paying for is visible in the materials and the build, and we'll show you exactly where to look.
What happens after I decide? How does delivery and after-sales work?
Say the word, and we take it from there. We place the order with our workshop, keep you posted on production, and schedule delivery and installation around your timeline — whether that's fitting a new BTO's moving date or slotting around a condo renovation. Before the big day, we'll walk you through what to prepare; our delivery day checklist covers everything from clearing the pathway to protecting your floors and lift-lobby logistics.
After your sofa is home, the relationship doesn't end at the doorstep. You get one local point of contact for after-sales: care guidance, minor adjustments, and any genuine issues are handled by us, and we coordinate directly with the makers on your behalf. You never have to chase a workshop overseas or puzzle over a warranty in another language — your furniture came from Foshan, but your support is in Singapore.
Straight from the showroom floor: our consultants' honest advice
"Most first-time buyers worry about the wrong things. They stress about choosing the perfect colour — and forget to ask what's inside the sofa. A great cover on a weak frame will disappoint you in two years. Test it, ask about it, and you'll buy once."
Because we hand-select from Foshan workshops, we know our furniture from the inside out — and we love sharing that knowledge. During your visit, ask us about the details that matter for longevity:
- Frames: kiln-dried hardwood construction resists warping in Singapore's humidity.
- Foam density: higher-density foam holds its shape through years of daily sitting.
- Mechanisms: recliner and sofa-bed hardware is tested for smooth, repeat operation.
- Leather grade: genuine top-grain wears differently from bonded leather — we'll show you the difference up close.
This is also where our full service model begins: showroom consultation, honest sourcing advice, coordinated delivery, and after-sales care that keeps you covered long after the tape comes off the box.
Ready for a relaxed first visit?
Here's the summary: we're easy to reach in Ubi, walk-ins are welcome (booking is just smarter on weekends), testing everything is not only allowed but encouraged, quotes are written and held with zero pressure, and delivery plus after-sales are handled for you from start to finish. That's the whole first time buying furniture at a showroom experience, demystified.
The best way to confirm all of this? Come and see for yourself — sit on a few sofas, pull out a sofa bed or two, and meet the team who'll be with you through delivery and beyond.
